We weren’t meant to do this alone.
Join us for a break from the status quo. A time of new perspectives, deep connection, and lasting growth, supported by ancient mycelial medicine.

The Medicine
Psilocybin – the active ingredient in “magic mushrooms” – is found in over 200 species of fungi across the globe. Evidence dating as far back as 5,000 BCE confirms that psilocybin has been used for both medicinal and spiritual purposes across the globe.
More recent research has demonstrated psilocybin’s power in healing depression, anxiety, trauma responses, eating disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). It has also shown unique efficacy in resolving ancestral trauma. For those who don’t suffer from any of the above conditions, psilocybin can still help with spiritual exploration.
In supportive, safe sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to heal, learn, and grow with the guidance of this powerful substance.
The Temazcal
The traditional Mexican sweat lodge is called the Temazcal. The ceremony held within the womb-like space of the temazcal connects us not only to nature, but also to the ancient Mexica traditions of the land.
Through breathing the aromatic steam of medicinal herbs, singing, and sweating, we experience purification and spiritual renewal. The heat from the volcanic stones in the temazcal promotes physical and spiritual well-being.
The temazcal also gives us the gifts of community and shared rituals, fostering a sense of unity and connection.
Group Integration
Reflecting upon our experiences helps transform our lives.
In an understanding, supportive, and confidential container, we provide the space that is all too often missing in the default culture.
Every ceremony of the week is followed by spaciousness, group integration, and opportunities for one-on-one support.
After the retreat, we’ll gather once more virtually to talk about how we’re weaving our new selves back into day-to-day life.
A-la-carte sessions with a Right to Heal integration expert (additional cost) are also available before and after the retreat.

Meet Erica Zelfand, ND
With over 13 years of experience in private medical practice, psychedelic facilitation, and teaching, Dr. Erica has found that healing and growth happen when we feel safe, when we explore the edges of our comfort zones, and when there’s an element of fun.
After using psychedelics to help her overcome divorce, burnout, and a trauma-triggered mental health crash, Erica is now living happily ever in Mexico. She and her husband have woven together an inter-cultural, inter-religious, and interlingual blended family centered around two teenagers, a toddler, and a kitten.
Why heal in a group?
There are layers of healing that can’t be accessed in isolation or through one-on-one therapy. As social creatures, many of our wounds have to do with relationship, tribe, and our sense of belonging. It is often only through relationship that we can fully heal.
Throughout history, psilocybin mushrooms have been consumed in group settings. Although we create privacy for each guest, we also encourage participants to bear witness to one another’s healing, and to likewise let themselves be witnessed by others.
You don’t have to do this alone. It’s okay if it gets messy. We’ve got you.
Retreat Itinerary
The Journey Begins.
Before the retreat, we’ll provide you with travel guidelines and practical tips. We’ll also have a virtual group call for Q&A and brief introductions.
Day 1
Choose between a shuttle pick you from the airport or in the Condesa neighborhood of Mexico City. Arrive in Tepoztlán in the late afternoon, settle in, and unwind with a dip in the pool and a snack. After a nutritious dinner we’ll gather around the fire for an opening ceremony, container agreements, and introductions.
Day 2
Morning movement and breakfast. Morning session includes intentions, “how to trip” preparation support, and plenty of time for questions before you prepare your nest and embark upon a mushroom session in the afternoon. Our facilitators will be nearby and available for support throughout the session. Dinner awaits you once you’re back.
Day 3
After morning movement and breakfast, we come together to reflect upon and integrate yesterday’s journey. Lunch and downtime will prepare us for the temazcal sweat lodge ceremony, which will help us work up a good appetite for dinner and get a solid night’s sleep.
Day 4
After morning movement and breakfast, a sweet closing ceremony lets us thank ourselves and one another for the powerful work we’ve done during the week. And then we go forth and prosper!
Integration
A couple of weeks after the retreat we’ll meet online for one last group integration session.
More integration support is also available a-la-carte.

SOLD OUTFrequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
I’ve never done anything like this before. Can I come?
Yes, absolutely! We welcome both first-timers and experienced cosmonauts.
How is dose determined?
We utilize all dose ranges – from microdoses to heroic ones. Lemon tek, boosters, and other techniques will also be used as needed. Nobody will be pressured to take more than feels right for them.
As we get to know you better – listening to your sensitivities, your goals, your level of readiness, and your intuition – we’ll make suggestions on dosage and get your consent before each journey.
We also utilize “booster” doses as needed. This helps take the pressure off of the first dose, as there’s no rush or need to take a large amount right away. You can start with a lighter experience and then later decide to go deeper with a supplemental dose.
Because we are not restrained by the red tape of upper limit on dosage, this retreat is a great choice for those who have never “broken through” before, or who are on medications that may blunt the effects.
Tell me more about the medicine sessions.
One dosing session will be offered over the course of the retreat. This session will happen during the day, with each guest having their own space on the property or in their room.
Feel free to ease your way into the medicine. After about 45-60 minutes, we’ll see if you want a “booster” dose to go deeper into your meditation. You always have the right to decline.
We utilize all dose ranges – from microdoses to heroic ones. Lemon tek, boosters, and other techniques will also be used as needed. Nobody will be pressured to take more than feels right for them.
We do not enforce any upper limit on dosage, making this retreat a good choice for those who have never “broken through” before, or who are on medications that may blunt the effects.
I take antidepressant medication. Do I have to taper off my meds to attend?
Not necessarily! We welcome people who are on psychiatric medication, though we do ask that you consult a healthcare provider prior to attending this retreat to double-check the safety.
You may also schedule an appointment with an RTH provider prior to proceeding.
Can my sweetheart, sibling, family member, or friend come with me?
Absolutely! If you choose to attend this retreat loved ones, we will respect that choice and welcome you all.
We request that any interpersonal challenges or breakthroughs be shared with the circle so as to avoid “bubbles” or “cliques” from forming.
Non-participants are welcome to drop you off and pick you up from the retreat, but only registered retreat participants may stay on the premises during the retreat.
Exceptions are made for individuals with disabilities who require medical assistance.
How many people will be on the retreat? How many staff?
We limit the group size to ensure potency and individualized care, as well as comfort in the space: our maximum capacity for this retreat is 8 guests.
We aim to have at least 1 staff member per 2 guests during dosing sessions.
I’ve never been to Mexico before. Is it safe?
Foreigners sometimes fear Mexico. While danger is always a risk, and while certain parts of the country should be avoided, the places that tourists venture within Mexico City and the retreat location are typically safe.
As with any place, it’s a good idea to travel in groups if possible, explore during the daytime, and stay mindful of pickpockets.
The scary news about violent crime in Mexico is almost always in border towns. We will be in Central Mexico – far, far away from the border!
How's the weather?
Mexico is a large country that spans several different climates. That’s why we have more than one retreat location, and plan our retreat dates and venues according to the climate.
Don’t worry – we’ll guide you on what clothes to pack for your retreat.
Why come to Mexico versus Oregon or Colorado?
Doing this work abroad allows us to customize the experience to each participant’s needs, with less red tape and lower overheads. It also allows us to weave in the traditions of the local culture.
Is this work legal in Mexico?
Psilocybin mushrooms have a rich history of use in Mexico among indigenous people.
Article 195 bis of the Federal Penal Code respects the use of mushrooms for traditional spiritual practices or ceremonies, and members our staff include indigenous Mexicans.
Similar retreats of lesser quality cost much more than this one. What’s the catch?
The cost-effective structure of our retreats is made possible by a few factors.
Our overheads are lower by avoiding bureaucratic red tape. Furthermore, this is not a luxury retreat. The facilities are clean but rustic, and the food is fresh, though simple.
The retreat is also in part subsidized by tax-deductible donations. Members of the staff may also include facilitators-in-training, reflecting our commitment to training and empowering as many healers as possible.
Who should NOT attend this retreat?
There are some folks who we are not set up to support at this time. They include:
- Individuals who are particularly dysregulated, frightened and/or in need of more gradual, one-on-one support;
- Individuals who need a lot of special exceptions or a highly controlled environment;
- Individuals who are unable to stop using substances like alcohol, cannabis, opiates, etc. for at least one week before the retreat begins and for the whole duration of the retreat;
- Those who recently discontinued a psychiatric medication abruptly and have not fully stabilized;
- Those with entitled, socially preachy, or otherwise difficult personalities who are unwilling to examine these defense mechanisms;
- Those with medical contraindications to taking psychedelics
Can I get a discount? Do you offer payment plans?
Depending on how many donations we receive, we may have some scholarship opportunities available. Please inquire when you apply. Please click here to donate to our scholarship fund – it’s tax deductible in the USA!
We do offer payment plans, but the retreat fee must nevertheless be paid in full at least one month prior to the start of the retreat. The sooner you sign up, the more payment plan options will be available.
How do I pay for the consumables?
To stay in compliance with all rules and regulations, the retreat fee does not include the medicine itself.
The medicine is transported, handled, and administered by a local curandero or marakame, whom you will pay directly. We appreciate – but do not require – cash donations in USD or pesos for the medicine. (We’ll provide more details upon registration, but don’t wory – it’s very affordable.)
What are "Container Agreements?"
Something that sets usapart from other retreats is our emphasis on container.
“Container” refers to the safe and supportive space in whichwe can express and explore our thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
It’s an essential element to the healing process. For this reason, all participants are required to respect our Container Agreements, which include:
- Confidentiality. I will hold in confidence the identities of the other participants and the personal nature of their healing work. I will ask for permission before posting photos of others to social media.
- Touch. All touch offered and given this week will be non-sexual in nature. (Exception: already established partners attending the Event together may engage in consensual touch.) I will respect the boundaries of others and ask first before delivering hugs, shoulder rubs, etc.
- Premises. I agree to stay on the premises for the entire duration of the event, unless explicitly given permission by an Event Leader. I also agree to stay within the defined ceremony space during medicine-assisted Activities.
- Platonic Healing. I agree not to run romantic energy with anybody else at the Event, for the duration of the entire Event. (Exception: already established partners attending the Event together.)
- Self Care. I will ask for what I need and speak up when I feel unsafe. I will not participate in Activities that I deem to be harmful for my wellbeing.
- Safety. I understand that the safety word is “Safety.” When I hear this word, I will immediately stop whatever I am doing, focus, and follow instructions. This is for my own safety, as well as for the safety of others. Likewise, if I deem that something dangerous is occurring during the Activities, I understand that I can likewise call “safety” for myself and others.
- Personal Growth. I remember that I am here for the purposes of healing and personal growth, and that such processes often entail confronting parts of myself and others that may be uncomfortable. I agree that the Event staff may remind me of this throughout the week, and understand that they may help me see when I am deflecting, projecting, or acting out of alignment.
- Group Healing. I understand that the healing that happens in groups is different than one-on-one or solo work. I agree to respect the process of other individuals, as it may be quite different than my own. I agree not to touch or speak to other participants during the Group Medicine Ceremony.
- Judgement. I will be mindful of my own judgements and projections as they arise, and when they do, I will choose kindness.
- Attitude of Learning. I understand that there is no such thing as perfection, and that the Event staff and other participants may say or do things I dislike. I understand that this is all part of the learning – both mine and theirs.
