Legal Psilocybin, at a Gentle Price
A Supported Training Model
Our program unfolds in a fully legal, carefully held training setting. You’ll be paired with a licensed facilitator or licensed facilitator-in-training who will walk alongside you and offer steady, personalized support before, during, and after your journey.
The group is also lovingly guided and overseen by two deeply experienced, fully licensed clinical facilitators who hold the broader container, supervise the facilitators-in-training, and tend to the integrity of the experience for everyone involved.
This collaborative model allows you to receive attentive one-on-one care at an accessible price point while also benefiting from seasoned leadership and the profound healing that can emerge in community.
Creating change that lasts
Founded by a naturopathic physician, Rise Up Journeys’ programs are designed to create deep healing and lasting transformation.
Our team of caring, highly experienced therapists, doctors, and facilitators have witnessed the far-reaching effects of psilocybin. We’ve helped clients get through existential crisis, treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. We also welcome people who are overall happy in life and want to explore their spirituality more deeply.

Why heal in a group?
There are layers of healing that can’t be accessed in isolation or through one-on-one therapy. As social creatures, many of our wounds have to do with relationship, tribe, and our sense of belonging. It is often only through relationship that we can fully heal.
Throughout history, psilocybin mushrooms have been consumed in group settings. Although we create privacy for each guest, we also encourage participants to bear witness to one another’s healing, and to likewise let themselves be witnessed by others.
You don’t have to do this alone. It’s okay if it gets messy. We’ve got you.
The Medicine
One legal, professionally-supported psilocybin-assisted healing session in a licensed service center will be offered over the course of the program.
Psilocybin mushrooms have been used since at least 5,000 BCE for spiritual and medicinal purposes. A recent boom in the research demonstrates the healing potential of these friendly fungi for conditions like depression, anxiety, addictions, grief, existential crisis, and neurological conditions.
Lasting benefits
Preparation before and integration after the psilocybin journey allows us to make the most sense and meaning out of our experiences, so that we don’t have to keep running back to the substance itself for guidance.
It is often during group integration that clients experience their “Aha!” moments. Understanding that we all synthesize information in different ways, our experienced staff will draw from different counseling modalities.
Cost
The cost to participate ranges on a sliding scale of up to $900 per person, plus $100 for the mushrooms. We assess each client’s financial need when determining their contribution. Nobody will be turned away for inability to pay.

Getting Started
Fill out an application and schedule a video call with us. We’ll then pair you with a facilitator, who will reach out to you to introduce themselves.
Preparation
You and your facilitator will have at least one 1-on-1 preparation call. We’ll then host a virtual group call for all participants to start co-creating our healing container.
Oct 9th: Coming Together
We’ll gather in person for orientation, group preparation, intention-setting, and container building.
Oct 10th: Journey Day
We’ll come together at the lovely Healing Center for a powerful day of psilocybin sessions.
Oct 11th: Integration Day
We will celebrate the “wins” and honor the lessons learned during the psilocybin session.
Continued Integration
1-2 weeks after the intensive, we’ll have a virtual integration group call to support, witness, and honor the continued healing.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
I’ve never taken a psychedelic before. Can I still come?
Yes, absolutely! We welcome both first-timers and experienced cosmonauts.
I take antidepressant medication. Can I join the group?
We welcome people who are on psychiatric medication in our inclusive container!
Please note, however, that DORA (the regulatory board in Colorado) requires that those who take medication obtain medical clearance prior to consuming psilocybin.
This medical clearance must be arranged by you, at your own expense. The clearance must come in the form of a letter from a clinician licensed to practice in the State of Colorado, or in your state of residence.
If you live in Oregon, Dr. Erica Zelfand (our founder) can sign off on your clearance for a small fee and a quick video appointment.
Can my partner, sibling, family member, or friend come with me?
Absolutely! But only if they’re enrolling in the group and taking psilocybin too!
Note that everyone who wishes to come must complete their own application process and participate in the activities (including taking the medicine).
We request that any interpersonal challenges or breakthroughs be shared with the circle so as to avoid “bubbles” or “cliques” from forming.
Non-participants are welcome to drop you off and pick you up from the retreat, but only registered retreat participants may stay on the premises during the retreat.
Exceptions are made for individuals with disabilities who require medical assistance.
Where do we sleep?
All of our in-person activites are during the day.
Feel free to commute from home each day if you leave nearby, or to book whatever local accommodations suit your needs and budget.
Do I pay separately for the mushrooms?
The prices listed above include the total price of the services, including the mushrooms. We will ask you to make two separate payments, however: one for the services, and the other ($100) for the mushrooms.
What if I can't make one of the virtual meetings?
You can still join us, as long as you can attend all three days of the in person intensive.
We will not record meetings, however, and there is no discount for missed sessions, so please plan accordingly.
Do I have to be low income to attend?
All are welcome to join us. Those who have more pay more than those who have less, but still save thousands of dollars on the therapy.
How many people will be in the group?
We have a limit of eight clients for this group, each with their own private facilitator-in-training (FIT), supervised by two clinical facilitators/supervisors.
Who will my facilitator be? Will I have any say?
When you apply to join us, we will ask about your preferences (gender, specialty, etc.) for your facilitator-in-training.
I'm a facilitator. How can I staff this event?
We’d love to have you support a client while deepening your skills under our supervision. We even offer consultation credit for Colorado licensure! The program for facilitators and facilitators-in-training (FITs) to join us is operated by our sister company, Right to Heal. Check out their page just for facilitators here.
